Tuesday, December 29, 2009 10:45- Engine 252, Tanker 253, and Medic 258 responded to the 300 block of Shawnee Trail for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof. Command was established, and mutual aid was requested from Marion and Adwolfe Fire Department. An interior attack was attempted, but crews were forced to back out due to structural instability. The firefighters worked for a few hours to extinguish the fire using a defensive attack.
